For the book Weeds, recognize and remove, Prisma/Norstedts Förlag I was both illustrator and author I write about plants and gardening for different media. I do also work with patterns for textiles and wallpapers.
Tell us a little about your background. Do you have an education, or are you self-taught?
I studied textile, 4 years, at Konstfack and fashion, 1 year, at Beckmans School of Design. I wanted to be a fashion designer but became an illustrator and a textiledesigner. Now I even give lectures about weeds. I have been a teacher in illustration as well as in fashion- and figure-drawing at Beckmans School of Design. I have lead illustration-workshops in schools.
What part of your creative work do you like the most?
Research is a pleasant part of the creative process. As a factual illustrator I like to study the reality for to find out have things really look like. And then make illustrations of them that are correct but yet personal. My ambition is to make illustrations with both a pedagogical clarity and an artistic value. My originals are handmade but I can deliver them in a digital way.
