David Henson is a freelance illustrator based Malmö.
His work reflects a passion for a good, well told, story: something he believes can be discovered around every corner. He works to intrigue and capture the imaginations of his readers, inspiring them to connect with the characters and environments he illustrates.
David has illustrated a number of children's books and advertising campaigns. He is currently part of a Swedish-Arabic language and storytelling integration project called Al Hakawati (The Storytellerin Arabic) which has, so far, published four, well received, books of Syrian folk stories.
With a careful attention to the background narrative, David adds depth and context to his work and uses colour and shape to create optimism and hope. ss
Having lived in Zimbabwe, England, South Africa, Jordan and Sweden, he has a fluid conception of 'home' and a well developed fascination with the world. He lives with his wife and two daughters.
