Jonas Darnell

What is your name and how would you briefly describe what you do?

My name is Jonas Darnell and I have worked in illustration, advertising and script writing my entire adult life – very much with comics and especially with my own character Herman Hedning (Herman the Heathen). Lately I've been more and more involved in projects concerning game design and graphics as well as UI design for apps.

What part of your creative work do you like the most?

Conceptual phase and completion. Creating a script or a design when ideas hails around one, and then furiously complete the mission to print-ready originals and see it in finished form is an equally amazing experience every time. No matter what type of mission it is.

What’s the best thing about working with you, from a clients point of view?

I work fast, solve problems effectively and functions creatively best under high pressure – especially in contexts such as improvised live drawing or the closer we get to a deadline  – and I have a solid backbone routine after 25 years in the profession.

I love to take on subjects I did not even know existed.
